Score a Goal in Every Goal on Hackney Marshes
Overview
Back for its 3rd year!
Join an 'elite' group who descend on Hackney Marshes to boot a football into all 138 goals.
No keepers. No nets. Just pointless fun.
Some people swim in the sea on New Year’s Day. Others hit the Boxing Day sales. This is our equivalent.
How It Works
A suggested route image is posted below - but realistically, just follow the migrating herd from pitch to pitch.
Scoring must be in the correct direction of the goal.
Come solo, bring the family, some mates, or join a random new pal.
It is not done at a fast pace. This is not a race and your completion time is totally irrelevant.
If you can kick a ball forwards, you’re qualified.
You will receive a free medal if you complete the challenge.
The whole experience lasts around 2 hours and can cover from 10-15k at a slow and casual pace. The distance can vary greatly depending on how often you decide to boot it through the goal, and how often you miss the target entirely.
Not included: toilets or changing rooms.
Everyone’s welcome - whether you want to run off the turkey or just fancy something fun.
New this year: everyone who finishes gets a cheap medal.
You must RSVP so we know roughly how many people to expect.
How It Started
One day I cycled past Hackney Marshes and thought how ridiculously amazing it would be to score a goal on every pitch. I immediately messaged my only friend who I knew would be up for it – Ben Bloom. He was in.
Weeks later we attempted the impossible (or at least, the never-attempted). It took two hours, we missed loads, and we loved every minute.
This needless endeavour captured quite a few people’s imagination. Each year it's grown, and so we’re doing it again to cap off the end of 2025.
