This month marks the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, one of the foundational moments for the European Union. In this public lecture, Cabinet Secretary Fiona Hylsop MSP will reflect on this anniversary and discuss Scotland's place in Europe.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Fiona Hyslop MSP is Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs and Member of the Scottish Parliament for Linlithgow. She is a graduate of the University of Glasgow with degree in Economic History and Sociology, and of the Scottish College of Textiles with a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Administration. Before entering the Parliament in 1999, Ms Hyslop worked in the financial services company Standard Life, where she held various positions in sales and marketing, latterly as Brand Development Manager. She also previously served as Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning.
