This session looks at the close historical and cultural connections between Canada and Scotland, and their continuing legacy. Margaret Bennett is steeped in the Gaelic lore of Canada, while Chief RoseAnne Archibald is a First Nation activist and educator with family ties to Scotland. Donald Smith looks at the sometimes troubled relationship between Scots and First Nation peoples as reflected in two novels, one Canadian, one Scottish
