About this event

Join us over Zoom to learn how to use your iPad (or iPhone) to access websites and online resources.

We will cover:

  • Exploring the home screen
  • Using Safari for web browsing
  • Saving useful websites as icons
  • Autofill and bookmarking
  • Taking screenshots
  • Scanning and uploading documents

The workshop is held online via Zoom with an experienced Apple trainer and a member of staff from the Family Fund team.

Please note:

  • This workshop is offered thanks to funding from the Scottish government and is intended for parents and carers who are living in Scotland.
  • This is a friendly and informal workshop for parents and carers raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person.
  • You’ll need to have an iPad (or an iPhone) to take part in the workshop activities.
  • To keep your iPad free to use during the workshop, you will need to join the Zoom call on another device, such as a smartphone or laptop.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is offered thanks to funding from the Scottish government and is intended for parents and carers raising a child with additional needs who are living in Scotland.

How do I join a workshop?

The workshops will take place on Zoom. When you book your place, you’ll receive a confirmation email with information on how to access the Zoom link.

My family needs adjustments to join

We cater for all families with a range of needs. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the sessions or would like to make us aware of adjustments your child might need, please email us at digitalskills@familyfund.org.uk

What if I don’t want to be on camera?

That's absolutely fine! You're welcome to have your camera turned on or off during the workshop. We want you to feel comfortable, so you can interact with the trainer and the session to a level that feels right for you.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

It is important that if you can no longer join a workshop, you let us know at digitalskills@familyfund.org.uk. Or you can cancel your booking in your Eventbrite account. Sessions are free, but places are limited, so please tell us if you can no longer attend.

What do I need to take part?

An iPad or iPhone, and an internet connection. It may be useful to join the Zoom session on a separate device so your iPad/iPhone is free to use.
