Description

The Scotland Mental Health First Aid - Young People (SMHFA: YP) course is designed for adults that work with young people between the ages of 11- 17 or adults that are interested in promoting the mental wellbeing of young people.

The SMHFA-YP course will teach participants the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need.

The SMHFA YP course is a 14 hour blended training which includes pre & post course self-learning. The SMHFA-YP course is in three parts:

Part 1: This is done on the Virtual learning site and lasts about 3 hours with an end of unit assessment, please note that Part 1 must be completed prior to attending the SMHFA YP Part 2 on 5th March 2018

Part 2: This is the seven hour face to face training taking place on Monday, 5th March 2018

Part 3: This is another virtual learning section and It takes about 4 hours. The final assessment, to get your First Aid Certificate is a reflective exercise on the learning from parts 1,2 and 3.
