Event description

Description

It’s time to get organised!

People are changing the food system every day in Scotland: growing veg together, sharing community meals, setting up businesses to provide local, healthy and sustainable food, campaigning for food justice, protesting the dominance of corporate food on our high streets and much more…

Now we’ve got an opportunity to work together to shift the whole of Scotland’s food system. The Scottish Government is introducing a Good Food Nation Bill, which is proposed as framework legislation to enable a transition to becoming a ‘Good Food Nation’.

This legislation could support a radical transformation of the food system, but that won’t happen without all of us applying some pressure. This event is bringing together folk involved with food at every level in Scotland to begin mobilising around the Bill, gathering our strength to ensure we are powerful enough to win this.

We’ll be getting the low down on the legislation, learning from other movements, sharing ideas on how to and ensure those most affected get their voices hears, co-designing tools to engage with our communities and networks, and much more.

We all have a connection to food, and this event is open to anyone and everyone intereted in building a better food system. (And there will be some tasty lunch and snacks too!)

- There are some handy briefings about the Good Food Nation Bill, available on the Scottish Food Coalition website.

- We'll be sending out the programme for the day nearer the time, please contact bella@foodcoalition.scot or anna.brand@rspb.org.uk for any further information.
