About this Event
This online Knowledge Exchange event aims to put a spotlight on inspirational practice and reflect on some of the achievements that are taking place in the languages community.
Featuring inspirational talks and break-out discussions led by various professionals, attendees will have the opportunity to share, celebrate and highlight the importance of providing all learners with access to a wide range of language experiences, and to develop their intercultural competencies.
Our keynote speaker is Dr Stacey Margarita Johnson, Assistant Director of the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching and Senior Lecturer in Spanish in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr Johnson will talk us through social justice approaches to teaching languages and community action in and through languages education.
The afternoon will conclude with our plenary speaker, Louise Glen, Senior Education Officer at Education Scotland. Being a passionate exponent of language learning, Louise is responsible for the provision of national curricular support, advice and guidance for languages in the primary and secondary sectors in Scotland.
