Scotland's Mental Health First Aid (19th January and 26th January)

This is a two day course held on 19th January and 26th January.
Aims of the course
Mental Health First Aid is like any other type of first aid and is the help given to a person before appropriate professional help or treatment can be obtained.
The course trains people to be pro-active. You will be aware of: how to ask about suicide, how the recognise the signs of mental health problems or distress, how to provide initial help, and how to guide a person towards appropriate professional help.
Objectives of the course
By the end of the training participants will have considered:
-Attitudes: to understand the role that stigma and discrimination play in mental health
-Recovery: to realise that recovery is possible
-Alcohol and Drugs: how they affect our mental health
-Suicide: how to ask about it
-Listening Skills: how to listen in a non - judgemental way
-Self-harm: understanding self harming behaviours
-Depression: understanding depression
-Anxiety: understanding various anxiety disorders
-Psychosis: understanding the impact of psychosis.

If you need to cancel your booking and give more than two weeks’ notice, we will refund your payment in full. If you cancel with less than two weeks’ notice, we will refund 50% of your fee.
