Event description

Description

Young people, with their energy, creativity and skills, can be the key to a sustainable and profitable future for Scotland’s SMEs as they strive to overcome some of the challenges facing businesses today; challenges such as increasing operating costs, lack of customer insights, barriers to new markets or employee retention.

Attracting, developing and retaining an engaged workforce can be particularly tricky for SMEs as they juggle the demands of business as usual with sustainability and growth. They can struggle to overcome skills gaps and shortages, fill vacancies, tackle an ageing workforce or introduce succession plans for key positions.

Yet some of the best performing SMEs are those continuously striving to stay ahead of the competition by attracting Scotland’s young people to join their organisations and offering them career progression – who, rightly so, see them as the future.

So to support you to sustain a young dynamic and productive workforce, our funded* Investors in Young People workshop events are designed and delivered by Remarkable’s team of experts to,

  • give delegates the opportunity to explore the ways in which they can develop and plan their own bespoke strategies for recruiting, developing and retaining young people in their organisation

  • help delegates understand how to they can improve engagement with existing employees – or begin to employ young people – aged 16-24 in order to sustain a dynamic and productive workforce

Who’s the workshop for?

Those involved in the decision making around their organisation’s youth employment activity.

So if you have an active role in developing and implementing your organisation’s youth employment strategy and want to know how to create your own bespoke action plan, this workshop event is for you.

And if you currently employ – or are thinking about employing – young people aged 16-24 and wish to receive expert advice on how you can develop a successful youth employment strategy to successfully harness their talents and meet your business goals and objectives, then come along.

Why attend?

By the end of the workshop you will have,

  • a tailored action plan to help you kick-start, or further, your youth employment activity

  • received advice and guidance from experts in their field

  • an understanding of your current organisational needs and the role that young people can play in helping you achieve sustainable and profitable business goals and objectives

  • insights and good practice advice from other delegates
