Description
Welcome to the first Scottish L&D Connect event.
This is a learning/networking event designed for Learning & Development and OD practitioners in Scotland and the North of England
A core belief is that there is a difference in the work & challenges faced by OD/L&D Practioners from our HR colleagues… so we want to:
- Establish a new L&D/OD network in Scotland/ the North of England blending face to face & social media interactions
- Encourage networking & best practice sharing within the learning & development community in Scotland/ the North of England
- Get together to talk about relevant L&D issues and reach solutions/ resolutions
- Test out exercises and ideas with other practitioners - get their feedback and think differently about what you produce
- Exchange ideas and support fellow L&D practitioners.
- Encourage use of social media as a means of networking and information sharing as a L&D community
Our first event is an unconference, a collaborative learning experience where participants set the agenda for discussions which then lead into free flowing discussion groups.
That means no presentations or lectures and you won't be sold to.
There will be some loose facilitation to get things started but be prepared to input and make this event your very own. We will be immersing ourselves in our own development.
There will be a strong focus on using Social Media to share content- please bring phones, tablets and devices.
If you are new to Social Media, we will help you find your feet a little!
And not forgetting our Twitter hashtags . . .
We are also using two hashtags on Twitter - #ldconnect for the group and #ldcu for the unconference so please do use them.

L&D connect already runs in London on a not-for profit basis and their annual unconference and subsequent informal networking events attract a wide variety of practitioners, see what some of the delegates had to say below…so we are starting one in Scotland to see what interest is out there in the L&D/OD community.
We look forward to seeing you very much!
