Your views - Strengthening Scots Charity Law:
The Scottish Government – in partnership with ACOSVO and SCVO – is hosting two FREE, online, interactive events, as part of its engagement with the charity sector to hear your views on enhancing transparency and accountability in Scottish charities and the possibility of increased regulatory powers for OSCR.
These online discussion events will provide those attending with an opportunity to help formulate the way forward on charity law in Scotland.

Led by: Caroline Monk, Senior Policy Officer, Charity Law,Third Sector Unit, Scottish Government & Judith Turbyne, Policy and Sector Improvement at the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
This second discussion will look at increased regulatory powers for OSCR . This will allow participants to discuss the proposals and to debate the benefits and implications before the Scottish Government publishes its recommendations for next steps by the end of this parliament.
This event will look at and discuss:
- Criteria for automatic disqualification
- Positive Direction power
- All charities have and retain a connection to Scotland
