About this event
We are excited to share that the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is looking to appoint a new Chair. This important role will provide strategic leadership for the organisation during a period which will present both challenges and opportunities for OSCR and the wider charity sector. If you would relish this challenge and want to be involved in developing OSCR’s next corporate plan, this may be the post for you.
Do you want to find out what it means to be a Chair, learn more about OSCR, extend your network and enhance your strategic leadership skills? Why not come along to find out more and learn what it means to be a Chair and what is important for your application?
OSCR is a non-ministerial office and holds charities in Scotland to account and works in ways to support the charity sector to improve so that the public have trust and confidence in charities. The Chair leads a small board of seven members, five of whom have recently joined the organisation and works closely with the Chief Executive and other staff to ensure the dynamic and effective delivery of OSCR’s corporate priorities.
This is a public event and non CtC members are most welcome to attend. This online session will give you the chance to find out more about the important role of OSCR, hear about the criteria, tips for applying and have a chance to ask about what being a Chair entails.
The event will be facilitated by Changing the Chemistry President-elect, Julie-Anne Jamieson, and will be an opportunity for you to hear from key individuals about the Board's strategy, how they operate, the importance of diversity, and the application process. In particular, you will hear from George Walker (OSCR Interim Chair), someone from the Public Appointments team about the application process and from a member of Changing the Chemistry, providing an insight into the role of a Chair. The event is designed for people who might not have considered being a Chair before as well as for experienced Chairs.
Please register and do share with your wider network.
