Description
Scottish EDGE is a competition designed to identify and support Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent. Since its inception in 2012, Scottish EDGE has had a huge impact on Scotland’s economy, with our alumni having generated an additional £151m in turnover, secured £124m in additional investment, and created 1858 jobs.
Scottish EDGE is made up of three categories:
1. Scottish EDGE, for companies of all sectors and stages offering funding of up to £100,000 on a split grant/loan basis.
Also within Scottish EDGE are four special awards;
- Higgs EDGE, for engineering, science or technology based businesses - offering an award of up to £150,000 grant/loan split
- Creative EDGE, for Creative Sector businesses - offering an award of up to £100,000 grant/loan split
- Social EDGE, for Social Enterprises - offering up to £100,000 grant/loan split
- Circular Economy EDGE - offering up to £100,000 grant/loan split.
2. Young EDGE, for companies where all directors are under the age of 30 offering a grant only award of up to £15,000
3. Wild Card EDGE, for companies who are pre-trading, again offering a grant only award of up to £15,000.
Applications for Round 16 of the bi-annual competition open on 21st Jan 2020 and close on 27th Feb.
