Event description

Description

The Highland Council in association with Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Government is delighted to invite you to a public consultation workshop event discussing proposals set out in the draft Scottish Energy Strategy.

Registration will start from 10.30am and the event will commence at 11am.

Chris Stark, Director of Energy & Climate Change, Scottish Government, will present an overview of the draft Scottish Energy Strategy and the vision for the energy sector in Scotland. This will be followed by a Q&A session and workshops.

To ensure as many organisations as possible can attend, the number of places available to each organisation may be limited.

Background and context

On 24 January 2017, the Scottish Government (SG) published its draft Scottish Energy Strategy document. It is one of a number consultations published in January 2017 including Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme, Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy, and Regulation of District Heating.

The consultation document and supporting information is accessible at: http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0051/00513466.pdf

The event is an opportunity for interested parties from the North of Scotland to discuss the implications and opportunities presented by the draft strategy. We would like to hear your views and give you an opportunity to inform Scottish Government proposals.

If you have any questions please contact Keith Masson, Climate Change Officer at the Highland Council by email keith.masson(at)highland.gov.uk or telephone 01463 702581.
