About this Event

We are delighted to announce two exciting speakers!

David and Wilma Finlay from The Ethical Dairy pioneered the ‘cow with calf’ dairy model in Scotland, and make award winning cheese. They will be joined by Rosa Bevan of Tap O' Noth, a market garden providing a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) veg box scheme in Aberdeenshire.

They will together be focussing on why small-scale agroecological farming is important for Scotland's future, as well as giving a short insight into how their businesses work.

Read on for more information about the AGM and its context!

Its been quite a year since our last AGM in October 2019. On a national level, we've seen the impact(s) of Covid 19; a surge in demand for local food; and huge challenges faced by the agriculture sector, including managing capacity to meet increased demand, as well as the uncertainties of Brexit and the climate crisis. All of this reinforces the importance of building more security and support for uncertain times ahead and resilience for the long term.

For SFLT, the last year has also been significant, with our Crowdfunder generating an incredible response, enabling us to grow our capacity and recruit our first paid employee. But, in common with the wider sector, we also face challenges around helping to meet growing demand for secure, long-term access to productive land for agroecological farming.

Our plans are unfolding and we welcome interest and support in helping us shape them as we develop and grow. Please come along to this important event in our annual calendar to hear more!

When you register, you will see two options- for Members and Non-members. Everyone is welcome but only SFLT members will be able to vote to elect/ re-elect Directors. If you are unsure whether or not you are a member, just drop a line to cara@scottishfarmlandtrust.org to check.
