Scottish Feral Pig Control - Best Practice Event
Join us on Friday, 21st November 2025 from 09:00 (for a 09:30 start) for the Scottish Feral Pig Control - Best Practice Event, Fort Augustus.
This event will be a valuable opportunity for Wildlife and Land Managers to share their experiences and knowledge on a variety of control methods, and discuss the Best Practice recommendations of managing the feral pig population in Scotland.
During the day, you'll hear from individuals and organisations already controlling feral pigs, providing an opportunity for all in attendance to discuss effective control strategies for a variety of differing land interests.
Topics which will be covered at the event:
- Legalities & Best Practice Guidance
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Methods of Control & Equipment
- Habitat Damage
- Corral Trap Design & Siting
- Dispatching & Carcass Handling
This is an outdoor event and will include site visits to the FLS Larder and into local forestry to view habitat damage and a corral trap (currently in use).
This will be delivered in the same format as the 2024 events.
Many thanks to Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) who are co-hosting this event.
