Scottish Frontline Network Training: Neurodiversity Awareness and Support
Overview
Are you a frontline worker who supports people at risk of or experiencing homelessness? Do you want to build awareness and key skills to better help neurodivergent individuals to access services? Then join us for this online training session delivered by Risk and Resilience.
This half-day online training session will help frontline workers understand how neurodivergence (such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more) intersects with trauma, mental health, substance use and housing instability – and what services can do to respond more effectively.
At the end of the session you will:
- Understand key terms and concepts around neurodiversity
- Recognise how neurodivergence may present in clients
- Learn how to identify masking, misdiagnosis, and unmet needs
- Develop simple, adaptable approaches to create safer and more inclusive support
It will be an interactive session using the chat function, breakout rooms and other tools to encourage engagement. Spaces are limited, so please make sure you can attend on the day.
NB: The event will take place on Zoom. Please make sure you are able to use and access Zoom ahead of the session. You will receive a link and joining instructions closer to the date.
This event is hosted by the Scottish Frontline Network. We cover all costs associated with the training to offer it to frontline workers for free. The Scottish Frontline Network is facilitated by Cyrenians who are a partner of St Martin's Frontline Network. The Scottish Frontline Network supports those working on the frontline in Scotland with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
