Event description

Description

The must attend for anyone working in Scotland’s tourism industry.

Each year the STA hosts its Signature Conference during Tourism Month. We are changing our style for STM2019, moving away from the traditional ‘all in one room for a day’ type conference format to deliver a high calibre, impactful, exciting and inspiring timetable of Signature Sessions throughout the day.

We’re partnering ScotHot again this year so in between our sessions, you’ll be able to visit the STA Spotlight stages for inspiring talks and workshops.

The event is a ‘do not miss’ for tourism business owners, industry leaders, managers and suppliers to industry.

Whether you’re a tourism business, a supplier to industry, an exhibitor, a delegate attending STA Signature Sessions or involved in any aspect of ScotHot please come along, we would love to see you.

If you can’t make it to the conference or ScotHot you are still very welcome to register for this social event!

Workshop: Place, Volume & Quality Experiences: Are Our Destinations Full? 2-4 pm, Crowne Plaza, Castle Suite, Glasgow

This pre-STA Signature Sessions workshop with author and responsible tourism advisor, Dr Harold Goodwin will explore the business advantage in working with local businesses and local people to create additional experiences, goods and services for tourists.

This highly interactive workshop will address the issues which participants bring to the session and offer a range of management approaches which have been developed to address the many causes and symptoms of overtourism.

Who Should Attend: This workshop is aimed at industry professionals involved in leading or managing destinations or attractions which have experienced or are starting to experience the pressures of 'too many' visitors.
