Scout of the World Award Discovery Weekend

This is a fantastic opportunity for Network members (aged 18 - 24) to take part in the Scout of The world Award discovery weekend. To take part in the Scout of the World Award you must first attend a discovery weekend. The weekend will be delivered by members of the SHQ International team.

11th - 13th of August 2017 @ Moffat Scout Hall.

Accomodation is provided in the form of tents. Participants will be required to bring their own sleeping bags, roll mats, sleeping kit ect.

The weekend will be fully catered. If any participant has any dietry issues please email them to RSeymour1992@gmail.com prior to the event.

What is the Scout of the World Award?

Scouts of the World Award is a Scout Network only award that gives Scout Network members the chance to undertake a project of their choice within the themes of Peace, Environment and Sustainability and take action on their chosen issue.

Through your Scouts of the World Award Journey, you will develop skills and knowledge that will empower you to undertake a project that will make an impact in your local, national or international community as well as develop your personal skills.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

You must be aged between 18 - 24 and a member of a Scout Network.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Transport costs are not included in the event.

Free parking is available at the scout hall.

The X74 bus runs regularly from Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station to Moffat Town Center. https://bustimes.org.uk/services/DMAX074 The bus stop is a short walk from the scout hall.

The closest train station is Lockerbie with buses from Lockerbie to Moffat running regularly. If this is your chosen method of transport please email RSeymour1992@gmail.com as we may be able to organise a lift from the train station.
