SCHEDULE OF WEBINARS
Monday 15th March 12.30 - 13.00 - Benefits of becoming an SCQFP approved Credit Rating Body
The session taking place on Microsoft Teams will explore the benefits of becoming a credit rating body and we will be joined by colleague(s) from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) which has been a credit rating body for 5 years. Discussion points will include why SFRS took the decision to apply, the process, the challenges along the way and what the benefits have been to both their staff as learners and to the organisation as an employer.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a credit rating body, or as an organisation you are already considering applying to become a credit rating body then this webinar will be of benefit to you.
Tuesday 16th March 13.00 - 13.30 - RPL in Practice Webinar
This session taking place via Zoom will look at the basic principles of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), including the definitions of credit transfer, summative and formative RPL and how learners can benefit from having their learning recognised.
This live presentation will look at the theory of RPL as delivered in the SCQF Workshop and then compare how this theory is then put into practice at University of the West of Scotland by our co-host, an academic and RPL practitioner, who will be able to bring RPL to life with examples of how learning can be identified, documented and assessed using learning Outcomes and the SCQF Level Descriptors. The session will discuss the importance of structure and guidance and how RPL is embedded into the Quality Assurance processes. At the end we will have time for a short question and answer session and demonstrate the RPL Toolkit on our website.
Wednesday 17th March 12.30 - 13.00 - Recognising Skills for Business Webinar
This interesting and informative session will provide an overview of the SCQF for employers and how it can be used to support effective recruitment and workforce development including recognition of work based learning. The webinar will explain the many benefits of using the SCQF can bring and will introduce SCQFP’s Inclusive Recruiter campaign along with the range of resources available to employers.
