In this SCRAP SUSTAINABILITY TALK, Emma Garry of @emeclothandyarn and emmagarry.com will explore sustainable pattern making and sewing, with zero waste patterns and basic tips to make patterns fit and cloth drape for all body shapes.
Emma has been involved in the design and textile business for 36 years and worked in the graphic design industry for over 20 years, she also runs her own business.
For 12 years she has had a fabric/sewing studio shop, Eme Cloth & Yarn, in Ilkley, she teaches dressmaking and pattern drafting and has a her own range of sewing and dressmaking patterns.
This a relaxed chat with space for discussion and questions, looking at fitting practices, and choosing the correct eco friendly fabrics for the job . There will be samples to look at and a demonstration plus examples of zero waste patterns.
This session will be 2pm - 3.30pm, the Scrap micro cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks and delicious brownies, and the Scrap Store will be open 10am - 4pm with lots to explore.
