About this event
Come along to Scrap & Yap, a creative and social hangout where nothing goes to waste, so you can get crafty with complete peace of mind.
We’ve teamed up with 4GOOD to help you deep dive into the world of sustainable crafting using scraps – think zine-making, junk journaling, collage, or just cutting and sticking.
This is the perfect night out for conscious crafters, seasoned scrapbookers, and curious beginners: come to meet like-minded people, chat with fellow crafters, swap ideas, or just enjoy the chill vibes.
Feeling shy, but still want to come along and socialise? Don’t worry, there will be plenty of ice breakers and creative warm-ups on important and relevant topics we can all connect on.
We’ll bring all the supplies, including a varied selection from our waste warrior friends at Reneé Materials. All you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to get 'stuck in' 📚✂️
...but if you've got a stash of scraps, old mags, train tickets, or other junk journal gems, bring them along to use or even to trade with others on the day!

Frequently asked questions
"Yap" (popularised on TikTok) refers to talking or engaging in continuous, often trivial, conversation. As this is a social event, we have playfully used "yap" in the title to invite participants to fill the space with chit chat while getting crafty.
Paper scraps are incredibly versatile and can be used for a variety of craft projects. Our favourite way to use up scraps is to make zines, however you could also make: bookmarks, greetings cards, gift tags, origami, junk journal entries, handmade envelopes, and more. Let your imagination run wild!
The core focus of this event is on sustainable practise as a community, therefore we will only be providing materials that have been salvaged from landfill destiny, or upcycled in some way. If you plan to bring your own materials to the event, please be mindful of single-use items and making waste.
Unfortunately, access to the space includes stairs, meaning that entry into the building is not suitable for wheelchair users. However, once within the space, the space itself and facilities are fully accessible. Please also note that there may be some noise due to the venue hosting 'makers spaces'.
We kindly ask that you only book a ticket if you intend to come along on the evening, as this event is non-refundable.
