Scratchmakers - Creative music course , February half term 2021

About this Event
Scratchmakers is a collaborative ensemble for young musicians aged 8-12 from Waltham Forest. It's suitable for players of any instrument with any level of experience. Come along and try something new!
This February half term break Scratchmakers will be held online on Zoom so musicians can join in the live course from their home. The course will have a series of structured creative activities that are led by professional musicians from Waltham Forest Music Service. The pupils will work create new music from scratch; and will be supported to compose, interpret and play music together.
Day1: Thursday 18th February 10am to 1pm
Day 2: Friday 19th February 10am to 1pm
There will be a 15 minute break at around 11.15 on both days and a 15 minute sharing session for parents/carers to listen to music the Scratchmakers have created at the end of Day 2.
The fee for the two sessions is £30 and students are encouraged to attend both days.
A reduced fee of £15 is available for:
- Families on a low income. please email housing benefit or reduced council tax bill to music.service@walthamforest.gov.uk
- Pupils who are attending a Music School Group this term
Pupils will need:
- Their instrument
- A quiet space to play
- An internet connection
- A laptop to access Zoom (a tablet device will also be ok, although a devicwe with a larger screen such as a laptop will give a better view. We may also use the computer keyboard for part of the session).
Zoom login details will be emailed to the parent/carer before the first day of the course.
