2 DAY WORKSHOP
SATURDAY 24th and SUNDAY 25th JUNE 2017
During this workshop you will learn the basics of screen printing onto paper including coating and exposing screens, registration and the use of stencils. You will also learn about colour theory, how to mix and use different colours and collaborating with other people on the course, experiment with layering, the use of translucent inks and other techniques to create abstract prints.
What experience do I need?
This course is suitable for beginners, but people wih previous experience will still benefit from the opportunity to learn new skills and gain advice from a tutor.
What will I make?
By the end of the workshop you will be able to take away a selection of abstract prints you and other people on the course have created.
Who is my tutor?
Richard Marsden is an independent printmaker and recent graduate of the Graphic Arts and Design degree at Leeds Beckett University. While studying his degree he won the course award for Best Printmaker, and is interested in geometric abstract art. His practise is based mainly around screen printing.
Do I need to bring anything?
All materials are provided. You may wish to bring a folder in which to take away your prints. Inks and cartridge paper will be provided, but other types of printmaking paper can be purchased on the day.
If I can't attend can I get a refund?
We will refund you in full if you cancel no less than 14 days before the start of the first session of the course.
What if the course is cancelled?
We reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason (for example, insufficient bookings or adverse weather conditions). We will endeavour to give at least 7 days notice if the course is cancelled and in the event of cancellation we will, of course, issue you a full refund.
