Screening: Garment Kelsa @ Metro State University
Please join us for a special fundraiser: A documentary screening in support of Cividep, an NGO based in Bangalore, India which works to safeguard garment workers employed in global supply chains.
Join us for a powerful 45 minute documentary screening that will provide insight to the conditions of garment workers and highlight the importance of global solidarity. The film follows five women garment workers in Bengaluru—retired, migrant, and sole earners—who power global fashion but face exhausting hours, low wages, and workplace violence. Balancing work and caregiving, they struggle to escape poverty. Based on Cividep’s research report, The Home and the World of Work, the documentary brings their realities to light with depth and sensitivity.
