Have you ever been to a women’s film festival, or attended a radical film screening outside of a cinema? 'Screening Interrupted' is your chance to experience the best of both!
AFRICA IS A WOMAN’S NAME (Ingrid Sinclair, Bridget Pickering & Wanjiru Kinyanjui) is a documentary about three powerful women working to create change in their environments. The screening will be interrupted to allow time and space for discussion and reflection in small groups.
This screening is curated by PhD candidate Kathi Kamleitner who devotes her research to the present and past of women’s film festivals around the world and how these events impact our film viewing practices. Supported by Africa in Motion Film Festival, an African film festival based in Scotland (www.africa-in-motion.org.uk), Glasgow Women's Library and Dr Elena Boschi (Edge Hill University).
