Event description

Description

Sonic Sea takes the audience on a journey. It explores how the ocean is a collection of sounds that are vital to the 'way of life' (quote by producers of Sonic Sea) for its inhabitants and how industrial and military noise is impacting on whales and other marine life. The documentary follows 'former US Navy Officer who changed forever the way we understand our impact on the ocean' (quote by producers of Sonic Sea).

Sonic Sea was produced by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Imaginary Forces in association with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and Diamond Docs. Learn more at www.sonicsea.org.

The screening of Sonic Sea has been organised in collaboration with the local community, who acknowledging RFSK's close proximity to the Thames, felt it was the perfect venue to hold a screening about marine life. In 2006, the now famous Thames Whale became lost in the river…it was the first time the species had been seen in the Thames since records began.

Tickets are £3.50 (£4.30 with booking fee) and can be booked here. Seating is limited so book early!
