Screening of For Sama, the critically acclaimed documentary film, followed by a short talk by the founder of Sanctuary in Chichester.
About this event
This powerful multi-award-winning feature documentary follows the intimate and epic journey of al-Kateab through five years of her life in rebel-held Aleppo as she falls in love, gets married and gives birth to her first daughter, Sama.
Following the film and a short interval, we'll hear from Roger Pask who founded Sanctuary in Chichester - he will represent the Syrian and other refugees we know, who would find it too difficult to watch For Sama and speak about their experiences.
Refreshments will be available, including English Sparkling wine generously donated by the Wiston Estate.
This screening event is a part of the 'We Cannot Walk Alone' interactive experience (18th - 20th June), held to celebrate Refugee Week 2021. Ticket sales are in aid of Sanctuary in Chichester and Children on the Edge, supporting refugees in our local area and worldwide.
Content warning: For Sama is Certificate 18.
We will be operating under a Covid safe policy, with hand sanitation on entry, a one way system, managed numbers and social distancing.
