About this event
The Garden Cinema is back!!!!
We are thrilled to screen Neighboring Sounds (Portuguese: O Som ao Redor), a 2012 Brazilian drama film directed and written by Kleber Mendonça Filho, produced by Emilie Lesclaux and starring Irandhir Santos, Gustavo Jahn and Maeve Jinkings.
The film was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. It was selected as the Brazilian submission for best foreign language film at the 86th Academy Awards. New York Times film critic Anthony Oliver Scott named it one of the top films of 2012.
The screening is for a small group in an open air space with roof protection. Sanitiser will be available at the entrance. Please have a Covid test on the day and bring masks if you wish.
We will be raising funds for Tomasote de Guayana, an agrarian collective in Venezuela and an autistic school outside UK.
The film will have English Subtitles. There will be drinks and snacks for sale on the night.
