About this event

Film & Media • Film

The mining history of County Durham dates to the 12th century. Nearly nine centuries later, Durham Pride was founded, establishing a unique connection between the Durham Miners and the LGBT+ community.

In partnership with OUT NE, we are delighted to invite you to the screening of the multi-award-winning film "Pride." The film showcases an unexpected alliance and marks a significant step for LGBT+ equality in the UK.

The Crook Hole in the Wall Pit Banner will be on display, alongside performances from the fabulous Jack Drum Arts, as we commemorate the 40th anniversary of the strikes.

We are thrilled to announce that Joy Allen, the Durham and Darlington Police and Crime Commissioner, and Stephen Guy, the Durham Miners Chairman, will be joining us for this special screening.

Film Screening: 7.15 pm
