Screening of "The One Fallen from the Sky" (Mexico, 2016)

The Other Garden Cinema is back this Summer!!!!

This docuementary produced in Mexico aims to rescue a dark time in the recent Argentinian history.

During 1975 and 1976, the military occupied the province of Tucumán and unleashed massive repression as a pilot project before launching a coup d'état. A peasant militant of the ERP (Revolutionary Army of the Revolution), living humbly with his wife and six children, was kidnapped, and his body was thrown from a helicopter in Pozo Hondo, a town located between Tucumán and Santiago del Estero. The population buried him and transformed him into a miraculous saint. In 2010, it was discovered that the body belonged to Tomás Francisco Toconás, and the tremendous consequences of state terrorism came to light, reconstructing the truth behind the story of a myth.

The screening is for a small group in an open air space with roof protection.

We will be raising funds for Tomasote de Guayana, an agrarian collective in Venezuela.

The film will have English Subtitles. There will be drinks and snacks for sale on the night.
