About this event
The Garden Cinema is back!!!!
I am so happy to screen my documentary "Venezuela: Creativity Against All Odds"in my back garden!
Credit Suisse is expecting the Venezuelan economy to grow 24% this year. A few years back, according to the big media, Venezuela was under a humanitarian crisis. This film explains how Venezuelans have survived when United State has directed the most strongest economic sanctions to their country. This US attack have been accompanied by an economic blockade to suck the life out of an economy reliant on oil exports. This is an inspirational story of the triumph of ordinary people facing, on a daily basis, the most powerful empire our world have known.
And guess what? My dad is in it!!! ;)
The screening is for a small group in an open air space with roof protection. Sanitiser will be available at the entrance. Please have a Covid test on the day and bring masks if you wish.
We will be raising funds for Tomasote de Guayana, an agrarian collective in Venezuela and an autistic school outside UK.
The film will have English Subtitles. There will be drinks and snacks for sale on the night.
