About this event

Other

“Scroll Down” seeks to look into the question of “how are these rapidly changing technologies and the many influences in online culture affecting young people’s mental health?” With the collaboration of Women’s Aid and Cake or Dice, we’ll build young people’s knowledge on harmful technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Google’s impact on global warming, and harmful internet personalities or content online.

Using workshops, activities, discussions and creative outlets; we’ll raise awareness on the effects the internet and technology has on mental health while building young people’s critical thinking skills.

  • Learn about harmful online communities and trends!
  • Make your own "fake news" to see how easy it is to be fooled by misinformation online!
  • Find out how you can "digitally detox"!
  • Become more confident in your ability to recognise how the internet impacts your mental health!

We will have a young artist completing an artist in residency to create work based on the themes and topics from the campaign. Young people will also create their own creative work to express the themes of the campaign for an end of project exhibition!

We will also be printing a resource led by the young people and including what they learned and the work they created throughout the project.

For anyone aged 12 to 26!

Drinks and snacks provided.
