The Task:
A day of lopping, chopping and burning as we keep the encroaching scrub from marching forward and engulfing the precious chalk grassland.

What to bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. Or a hat and sun cream if it's sunny.
Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Access:
Highfield & Hangingcroft is steeply sloping in some areas and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
