Mahinda became a technical writer by accident and hasn't yet summoned the motivation to find another profession.

In 17 years at Thermo he's gone from waterfall paper-based processes through to paperless systems, back to paper again, and finally to an agile(ish!) software development environment managed using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).

In this talk, Mahinda will go through:

• The challenges in using Scrum for distributed teams where authors work on multiple projects with long release cycles, typically from 6 months to 2 years.
• The mechanisms put in place to manage documentation for those projects.
• A full TFS repository for a real project, focussing on how user stories and tasks fit together to provide traceable and auditable paths from requirement through to reviewed user documentation.
