LEARN TO SCULPT THE FIGURE

17th & 18th January 2206

Figurative sculpture workthops working in clay from a life model at Bath Artists’ Studios

£200

Come along for a creative weekend of figurative sculpture in the School Room at Bath Artists’ Studios. The model will hold one pose for two days which will be enough time for you to complete a sculpture. You will be working in clay directly from a life model, creating a life-like figure.

On the first day you will be tutored by Olga Fladmark and given tips to help with proportions and anatomy and you will be shown how to use measurements to achieve correct proportions. You will use the same techniques were used by the master sculptors and art academies of the past to more easily create a life-like sculpture and these techniques will help you get the basics right.

On the second day you will by tutored by Sue Larner and will concentrate on sculpting by eye using the model as your reference point.

Life sculpture offers a intense learning, practical challenge, artistic expression and an immersive and therapeutic experience. You will produce a sculpture unique to you and in your own style.

We have a large and well equipped school room with sculpture stands and a revolving platform for the model.

In the middle of the afternoon there will be a friendly tea break in the common room.
