Sculpture in the City 14th edition Tour: The Canvas

Join David Rosenberg of Velorose Gallery on a tour of the 14th edition of Sculpture in the City as we explore how the canvas and context for art impacts how its experienced by the viewer.

Following the tour, three participants will get the chance to become the canvas by choosing one of three free permanent tattoo designs inspired by works in the exhibition. Tattoos will take place at a later date with more details to follow.

Date & Time (The Tour): Thursday 25 September, 6.00pm-7.30pm

Duration: 90 minutes.

Starting location: Saint Botolph-without-Bishopsgate Churchyard, EC2M 3T

· Please wear sensible footwear and bring weather appropriate items e.g. umbrella, water bottle etc.

· In participating in this tour, you agree to being filmed and photographed. Documentation will be used for promotional purposes including but not limited to social media and websites for Sculpture in the City, if you do not wish to be snapped, please inform a member of the team on the day of the event.

Bios:

David Rosenberg is an architect and urbanist, independent gallerist, curator and creative producer with experience and flair for leading teams to realise creative projects in art, architecture and design. He is a visiting critic and lecturer, art and architecture tour leader, art gallery and architecture trustee, and has a background as a university teaching fellow.

Velorose is a gallery and studio where art meets architecture, urbanism and design in a Barbican / Farringdon development for which Velorose was the architect. The gallery curates and presents exhibitions for artists, collectives, charities and other galleries, hosts art events, parties, artist dinners and breakfasts. The studio engages in residential design - specifically Barbican interiors - in addition to urban design, masterplanning, signage, branding and the feasibility and realisation of art installations at an urban scale.
