Clothing appropriate for the weather. No open-toed shoes. The track to the orchards is uneven, as are parts of the orchards, so we recommend you wear sturdy walking boots or shoes.

You'll need to bring your own scythe for this course, but we will have peening equipment and whetstones on hand to help keep your blade sharp. Please bring your own packed lunch, flask of tea, snacks to sustain - there are no shops in the vicinity.

What facilities are at the orchard?

We meet in a restored byre, which offers us shelter from excessive rain or sun. There is a composting loo there, also a tap with mains water.

Please park by the white railings adjacent to Bow Lane Cottage. If there is no space there, please park on the grass verge a little further along the road. Please park considerately and don't block the drives or entrances to local residents' homes. if possible, lift share if possible!

What else do I need to know?

We suggest you park no later than 09:45 - it's about a 10 minute walk down the track and through one orchard to get to the byre. There may be sheep in the orchards, so please keep gates closed ... and no dogs.
