Event description
The launch of a new research report 'Fishing Without A Safety Net' from Seafarers UK on the financial resilience of UK fishers.

About this event

New research from Liverpool John Moores University explores the real financial problems experienced by 431 fishers and their families who received support from maritime welfare charities. It reveals the different types of financial problems experienced by fishing families and the lack of a safety net or protections available for working fishers.

In response to the research, maritime charity, Seafarers UK are asking – what can be done to improve the financial resilience of fishing families?

This webinar provides an opportunity to find out how Seafarers UK are planning to take forward the recommendations made in the research and how you too can get involved in supporting the financial resilience of fishers around the UK’s coast.

Read the ‘Fishing Without a Safety Net: The Financial Resilience of Small-Scale Coastal Fishers, their Families and Communities’ report.
