Overview

Basic Firefighting and Prevention at sea

This one-day course forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all fishermen and provides fishermen with the knowledge and skills required to be able to fight fires at sea.

After full completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand fire and the dangers it presents at sea
  • Understand fire prevention
  • Understand the principles of firefighting at sea
  • Be able to use basic firefighting equipment to safely extinguish fires

Photographic I.D. is required as this must be provided before commencement of the course otherwise no certificate will be issued to you.

You are also required to bring a boilersuit and heavy boots with you on the course.
