Thu 13 April 2017, 09:00 – 17:30 BST
You are on your way to registering for the ‘Search for a Star’ and ‘Sumo Digital Rising Star’ Art Finals and Conference Day 2017! This event will be taking place at Hertfordshire University on Thursday 13th April from 8.45am-5.00pm approx. (exact times TBC) and is completely free to all students, lecturers & academics involved in games-related courses. Places are limited, so be sure to register quickly!
Throughout the day there will be talks and informal mentoring sessions from awesome games industry professionals, an academic round table discussion with UK games studios, and a networking lunch between all students, academics and industry professionals. There will also be exhibitors on hand to chat to you about the industry and your career, with stands from Sumo Digital, Playground and more to be confirmed!
This year’s talks are already looking phenomenal, with some of the guest speakers we've got lined up for the day including:
- Philip & Andrew Oliver - Radiant Worlds
- Richard Jordan - Sumo Digital
- Nick Duncombe – Playground Games
- Daniel McCabe - Codemasters
- Kyle Jobson - NSC Creative
We will also be putting our competition finalists through the motions of their final interview, and crowning this year’s winner of Search for a Star and Rising Star (Art) on the day! The finalists have battled their way through round 2, being marked by our panel of industry leading judges. We would love to see all of the entrants to the competition there, so come and cheer on your peers!
We’d love for you to join us for an action-packed day of unique networking opportunities & first-hand insights from games professionals. This event is one not to miss!
We are thrilled to be able to offer this event once again, but we couldn’t do it without the help of our fantastic partners Sumo Digital, Playground Games, Boss Alien, nDreams, Unreal, Epic Games, HackerRank, Furious Bee, edgecase, Gaasworks, Playstation First, Gamer Camp, and UK Games Talent.
