Why Attend a Comedy Writing Workshop?
Six Week Comedy Writing Course
Mon 3 Nov - Mon 8 Dec: 6.30 - 8.30, The Hub, Queens Drive, Exmouth Sideshore
For centuries, people have been turning life’s serious stuff into laughter. This winter, here’s your chance to do the same! Join a playful, welcoming workshop designed to spark creativity, boost confidence, and — quite literally — warm the cockles of your heart.
What You’ll Gain
- Speak up with clarity, heart, and humour
- Transform serious ideas into comedy gold
- Collaborate and connect through stories, poems, and song
- Make a difference by exploring how humour can tackle big issues like the future of our planet
What to Expect
There’s no pressure to be funny. You’ll be guided step by step by specialist comedy coach Maggie Irving, who will support you in finding and developing your comedy voice. This safe, inclusive space is about experimentation, expression, and discovering the lighter side of your own story.
Alongside creative writing skills, you’ll also build confidence in public speaking and boost your sense of wellbeing. And because laughter really is the best medicine, you’ll leave energised, uplifted, and ready to share your unique voice.
