An hour of guided Rockpool exploration at Charmouth beach
Join the Marine Warden on a Seashore Safari to explore the fascinating creatures of the seashore and how they live, eat and adapt to their environment!
As the tide goes out the ledges are exposed and rockpools, which are bursting with life, are revealed. An experienced warden will help you to discover the amazing plants and animals living on our shores.
Meeting point: Red Life Buoy, Charmouth sea front from 11.30am
Site information: Uneven ground with sand, pebbles and slippery boulders. Please be suitably dressed for the elements as it can get cold on the ledges even in the summer. Please wear footwear with good grip that you don’t mind getting wet, such as wellies or walking boots. If your child is likely to want to swim, or get completely soaked, please bring a towel and change of clothes for you both!
Please do not bring long-handled nets as they damage our rockpools; small nets will be provided. The ledges are short walk from the Centre over uneven rocks.
Please note car parks are very busy in Charmouth during the summer, so please allow plenty of time for parking.
Venue: Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth, Dorset, DT6 6LL
