Event description

Description

Join us for a free celebration cabaret to round off the festival. With music from Steve Dagleish and 'Sea Words', a poetry performance from Janet and Phil Philo. There will also be an open mic so that festival workshop participants will have the chance to share their work.

Please book in advance if you can.

Janet Philo

Janet’s poetry has been published online and in print. A first poetry pamphlet, Under-hedge Dapple, was published by Three Drops Press in 2016 followed by a chapbook, Dark Matter 8 with Steven Bruce (Blacklight Engine Room 2017). Since then her work has been included in several anthologies, most recently, I Bet I Can Make You Laugh by Joshua Siegal and Friends (Bloomsbury Education 2018).

She’s a proud member of the TWP (Tees Women Poets) collective, and of the Saltburn Writers group. She loves spoken word performance, especially when mixed up with music. Catch some of Janet’s recent work, accompanied by husband, Phil, on guitar on Soundcloud: Under-hedge Poet, https://soundcloud.com/user-839667062 .

Steve Dagleish

Steve Dagleish lived in Saltburn during his teens and continues to draw on many of those memories and stories in his songwriting. He has released two albums of original songs, both given airplay by Bob Fischer (BBC Tees) & Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music). ‘Yours for Eternity’ was nominated in the ‘Best Album by a Solo Male Artist’ by the respected ‘FolkWords’ in 2017.
