Discover parts of the Thames you never knew existed
Do you live and work in or near London? Are you always planning to get out and see more of the capital but never seem to find the time to do it? Well here’s your chance!
As part of Seaside Walk Week 2016, the Family Holiday Association is hosting Thames Treasure Trails after working hours on Wednesday 1 June and Thursday 2 June. Book your place on any of these dates and you can look forward to a fun evening of local history, quizzing and drinks with fellow walkers.
On each evening, the fun will start between 5.30pm and 6.15pm at our meeting point near St Paul’s Cathedral. From there, you’ll be given clues and questions from our friends at the British Guild of Tourist Guides (also known as Blue Badge Guides) before you set off to discover parts of the Thames you never knew existed.
The quickest team to complete the trail on each evening will win our treasure.
You can create your own team with friends or colleagues (up to a maximum of four people) or we can help you find fellow quizzers to chum up with on the day. The trail will take about 90 minutes to complete, and it will end with drinks and prize-giving at a pub near to London Bridge rail and Tube station.
Don’t worry if you get stuck along the way. You’ll be able to use your ‘phone a guide’ lifeline in exchange for a small donation to our charity!
The cost is £15 per person, so that’s just £60 for a team of four. All profits will go towards helping struggling families to get the breaks they need.
We’re delighted to have the support of the British Guild of Tourist Guides for our Thames Treasure Trails. They know how to put together events that are informative, professional and great fun for everyone. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about London’s rich history and raise funds for a worthy cause.
