When was the last time you had a really great night’s sleep and woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the demands of your day? If you’re struggling to remember take heart; when we feel out of synch we may find that we become inexplicably tired, anxious without reason, on the edge of tears, or just feel unable to cope; all signs that we need some support to adjust to the changing seasonal energies around us.
Nature gives us signs to help us adjust but we are often too caught up in the overwhelm of bugs, back aches and pressures of work that we miss them.
Working on your own meridian energy during the corresponding season is a valuable way to learn more about each meridian, as well as coming to a better understanding of yourself and how you can experience a smoother journey through the inevitable trials and tribulations of life.
As we progress into Winter, it’s a time for reflection and introspection in order to regenerate and develop our imagination, cultivate our curiosity and nurture a sense of adventure. What do you need to ‘sit up’ and take notice of? Are you holding on to something that is no longer needed or do you keep picking over past mistakes?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Winter season is associated with the water element, with the Kidney and bladder meridians, the pathways or channels, through our bodies, through which the life-energy flows. You may have also heard this energy referred to as Qi (pronounced Chi) or Prana.
In these monthly workshops, we explore each meridian in its seasonal time. Understanding where each meridian pathway is, how to recognise imbalances in ourselves and others, and what we can do to support ourselves to feel at our optimum through the seasons.
Come and share some useful tips and techniques, stretches, essences, lifestyle and nutrition information to enable you to nourish and care for yourself better, in season, as well as discussing some of the emotional associations with each meridian and how to synchronise with these.
Come and join us for a 2 hour exploration of the Kidney meridian. You’ll meet some other people who are interested to learn more too.
This is NOT an exercise class, it is an interactive learning and sharing workshop where you can increase your knowledge about each meridian and support yourself, and your loved ones, to be at your full potential during each season. Some worksheets and handouts will be provided and I’d recommend a notebook for those that like to take notes. There are plenty of resources to try out and the discussions are informative and interactive.
