Description

Join Capturing our Coast as we take part in Seawatch's National Whale and Dolphin Watch!

Out of the 29 species of whales and dolphins around the UK, seventeen of them can be seen in the waters around the southwest. Capturing our Coast will be helping to collect valuable data on the species spotted and abundance of around the UK for the Seawatch National Whale and Dolphin Watch.

Come and join us as we look out for these amazing creatures.

Where?

We will be at Rame Head, Cornwall PL10 1LH over by St Michael's Chapel on the tip of the peninsula.

When?

Sunday 6th August 13:00 - 16:00.

What to bring?

  • The best way to watch cetaceans from headlands is through binoculars, so please bring your own pair (there won't be any spares).

  • Please come prepared for the weather with suncream, hats and waterproof clothing.

  • There is a short walk to St Michael's Chapel so please wear appropriate footware.

We will be joined by an expert in marine mammals on the day to give everyone tips on spotting cetaceans and there to answer all of your questions.
