Seaweed Day Forage and Create

Come join us at The Drum for a fun-filled day of exploring the wonders of seaweed! Get your hands dirty as we forage for different types of seaweed along the shore. Learn about the various uses and benefits of seaweed in cooking, skincare, and more. learn how to forage seaweed sustainbly . After our foraging adventure, we will return to the classroom to create some seaweed inspired art and make and take away some seaweed seasoning to eat. Don't miss out on this unique and exciting event!

Frequently asked questions

do i need to bring anything ?

please bring a small container to bring home your seaweed samples, a pair of scissors. shoes suitable for walking over uneven surfaces as we walk. Notebook and pen , waterproofs in case of rain . If it rains we will still forage

do i need art materials

We will be be doing some watercolour painting . Paper is provided . if you have your own watercolour paints and brushes please bring them otherwise there will be some in your classroom you can use .

do i need to bring food and drink

there will be teas and juices provided for you , and some seaweed snacks for you to try during the day. there will be a lunch break and you are welcome to bring your own or eat in any of the very close by cafes on the sea front
