About this event

Join me at beautiful Yellowcraig Beach to learn about the fabulous August edibles growing in coastal woodland, grassland, beach, and tideline, gather some foraged foods to take home, and enjoy wild flavours around a fire.

Bring scissors and we'll make use of the low tide to harvest some delicious and healthy seaweeds. We'll look at some coastal greens and fungi, gather around a fire and sample some of those foraged flavours in a seaweed packed wild food picnic.

We'll discuss how to identify and safely, legally, and environmentally consciously collect edible seaweeds and coastal plants and fungi, forage seaweeds at low tide before making a fire (if the weather permits) and tasting our wild vegetables in sweet and savoury foods and drinks. The walk involves some slippery scrambling over rocks to reach the low tideline seaweeds. Please wear sturdy shoes and notify me of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
