The South East Climate Alliance invites you to participate in an online Knowledge Sharing event on sustainable living with interactive discussions and Q&A.

Our guest speaker is Pooran Desai OBE who has worked in sustainability for over 30 years and will share his story with us. He co-founded the environmental organisation, Bioregional and put together the UK's first zero carbon development, BedZED in south London, where he lived and worked for 18 years.

He coined the term 'One Planet Living', leading Bioregional's international One Planet Living initiative, leading teams creating sustainability strategies for cities, real estate developers, companies and communities in over thirty countries.

One Planet Living formed the inspiration for the UN Sustainable Development Goals originally championed at the UN by a partnership between the Colombian government and Bioregional. It was used as the sustainability framework for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic 'One Planet Games'.

Pooran has now founded a new company, OnePlanet.com, which is creating tools to 'systems map' strategies and plans for companies and local government. This will enable them to collaborate in 'ecosystems' to visualise, manage and communicate interconnectedness which he believes is at the heart of better, more sustainable and regenerative decision-making.
